Terms & Conditions

1.  General

These terms and conditions apply to the use of this website at www.marriottsbutchers.co.uk.  By accessing this website and/or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Using this website indicates that you accept these terms regardless of whether or not you choose to register with us or order from us.  If you do not accept these terms, do not use this website.

2.  Contact Details

Our contact details are as follows:-

Company name:       Marriotts Butchers

Trading address:      32 Station Road, Woodford Halse, Daventry, Northants, NN11 3RB, United Kingdom

General email:          [email protected]

Telephone number: 01327 260488

3.  Pricing Policy

If a product is sold by weight, our butchers endeavour to cut to the exact amount ordered although marginal variations may apply.  As it is impractical to collect small additional payments or process small refunds, we will guarantee that any weight variation never exceeds more or less than 10% from the weight ordered in kilograms (weights shown in pounds and ounces are for information only).

All prices are inclusive of VAT (however nearly all of our products are zero rated for VAT).

Prices exclude delivery charges.

The total purchase price, including delivery charges and VAT, if any, will be displayed in the buyer's shopping basket prior to confirming the order.

4.  Delivery

You may select our cost-effective delivery service to most UK locations, or call in person at our shop to collect your order.  Please refer to our Delivery/Collection page for full details.

When placing your order, it is important that someone should be at home to take delivery; the trained delivery drivers will have explicit instructions to leave your delivery in a reasonably secure place at the premises if no-one is available, and will not take the package back to their depot.  The drivers know they are carrying perishable goods.  The delivery shall be deemed to have been made either when the consignee accepts delivery in person, or when the driver leaves your delivery at the unattended premises.  If we receive no communication from you within 48 hours of delivery regarding any problems with the goods, you are deemed to have received the goods in full working order and with no problems.

5.  Collection

You may opt to collect your order in person from our shop, in which case it will be available for you the next afternoon after placing the order unless a later collection date is specified (orders placed on Saturday or Sunday will be available for collection from Tuesday afternoon).  Our shop opening hours are 8.30am to 5.30pm Tuesday to Friday and 8.30am to 3.00pm Saturday.  We are closed on Sunday and Monday.  Goods not collected within two days after they are available for collection will be disposed of, and the order deemed complete.  No refunds can be made for uncollected orders.

6.  Unfulfilled Orders

Because of the seasonal nature of some of our produce and limited supply, it is possible that from time to time we may be unable to fulfil some orders.  If your order is for one specific joint or meal item we will let you know as quickly as possible, within one working day of you placing the order, and offer alternative produce or cancellation at your discretion.  In the event of us having to cancel, we will make an immediate and full refund of any monies paid.  If your order is a large selection of items we reserve the right to substitute products of equal or superior quality and value and of the same type.

7.  Returns

If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the quality of the produce received, you should contact us within 24 hours of receipt.  Where products supplied are damaged, incorrect or faulty and you have notified us within 24 hours of delivery of the order, we will either replace the product or issue a full refund to you.  We may request that goods be returned for inspection prior to agreeing any refund at your cost.  You must return the goods to Marriotts Butchers or make them freely available to us, but at your cost.  If you do not freely return the goods at your cost then we reserve the right to deduct any reasonable costs we incur in recovering the goods from you and will deduct this from any refund.  If goods are confirmed to be faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied, naturally we will then refund any reasonable delivery costs in returning the goods.  Where a refund is made this will be paid as soon as possible, but no later than 30 days from notification.

8.  Cancellation

We regret that due to the very short timescale involved in processing fresh meat orders, it is not always possible to cancel or amend your order once it has been placed.  If you wish to cancel or amend your order, please contact us by telephone as soon as possible.  If your order has not yet been processed, we may be able to cancel or amend the order.  In the event of an order being cancelled, we will make a full refund of any monies paid as soon as possible, but no later than 30 days from cancellation.

9.  Non-Delivery Claims

In the event of your order failing to arrive when expected, please contact us by email or by telephone within 24 hours of the expected delivery quoting your order number.  We will immediately investigate and let you know the situation.  Should your order not be delivered within one working day of the date given in the website acknowledgement, you will be entitled to a full and immediate refund.  However, we shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform any of our obligations if the delay or failure results from events or circumstances outside our reasonable control including, but not limited to, acts of God, strikes, lock outs, accidents, war, fire, failure of any communications, telecommunications or computer system, breakdown of plant or machinery or shortage or unavailability of raw materials from a natural source of supply, and we shall be entitled to a reasonable extension of our obligations.
