Where does your meat come from?

We believe British really is best so all of our beef, lamb, pork and poultry is sourced from within these shores.  In the main our beef and lamb is reared on local farms in the surrounding villages.

How do I order?

You can order online, over the phone or in person by visiting our shop.  Please see our How to Order section for full details.

I can't see the cut I'm looking for.  Can your butchers help?

Yes no problem, just call or email and let us know what you're after.  We're sure we'll be able to prepare it for you.  We realise that it's sometimes easier to speak to someone so please don't hesitate to pick up the phone.  Don't forget, there are real people behind this website.

Where do you deliver?

We are able to deliver to all addresses in England, Wales and the Scottish mainland from Aberdeen southwards.  We regret that delivery costs are prohibitively high in other areas and hence we cannot deliver elsewhere.

Who will deliver my order?

We will deliver to any address within a 20 mile radius of our shop in Woodford Halse using our own refrigerated vehicles and staff.  For nationwide deliveries we use a reputable national next day courier company to deliver your meat to the address specified by you in the order form.  Usually they will require a signature.  If a signature is obtained we will be entitled to assume that that person is authorised by you to receive the products.

How much does delivery cost?

That depends on how close you live to our shop.  Some customers will qualify for free delivery with no minimum order.  Please see our Delivery/Collection section for full details.

When will I get my delivery?

Local: We can deliver your order on any day that suits you from Tuesday to Saturday inclusive (order before 12.00pm to guarantee next day delivery).  When you place your order, you'll be asked what time suits you best, either morning (9.00am to 12.00pm), afternoon (12.00pm to 4.00pm) or early evening (4.00pm to 7.00pm).  Early evening deliveries are not available on Saturdays.

Nationwide: Your order will be delivered any time between 8.30am and 5.30pm on the day that you have specified.  Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to give you an exact time for delivery.

What if I'm out when my order arrives?

When you place an order you'll see there's a box for you to fill in telling us what to do if nobody's in.  Ask us to leave it in the shed, take it to Mrs Smith next door, whatever's easiest for you.

Can I collect my order?

Yes of course and if you do, obviously no minimum orders or surcharges apply.  Our shop is open Tuesday - Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm and Saturday 8.30am to 3.00pm.  Simply change the shipping box box on the order form to "Pick up Free", tell us what day you'd like to collect the order and we'll make sure it's ready for you.

How can I pay?

Payment can be made online using all major credit and debit cards via SagePay (our secure online payment processors).

How will my order be packed?

Nationwide: Each order is contained in a frozen gel cooling pack which ensures the products remain at the correct temperature for at least 48 hours.  We send out all our products either tray wrapped or vacuum packed, a natural way to keep the meat fresher for longer, with a best before date on.  It follows that meat products should be placed in the fridge/freezer as soon as possible after delivery.

Local: In local areas only we will deliver directly from our shop to your door in our own refrigerated vehicles and packaging will vary from that described above.

When I receive my order how long will it keep?

Fresh meat will have a minimum three day shelf life if kept in the fridge.  Although our fresh meat usually keeps longer than this, we recommend that you freeze any products that you do not plan to use within three days of delivery.

Is my order suitable for freezing?

Yes, all products will be delivered fresh unless stated otherwise so will be suitable for home freezing.
